Griffin Special Projects delivers robust, British engineered solutions designed to solve the toughest onshore and offshore sanitation challenges.
We are on a mission to transform the level of hygiene, comfort and innovation in sanitation for remote locations
Offshore work presents logistic challenges that standard portable toilets simply cannot handle.
Current offshore welfare solutions are often basic, exploiting the “So far as reasonably practicable” (SFARP) loophole (HSE section 2.1). Despite the industry's stated goal to attract and retain technicians with top wages, the best working conditions, and a superior HSE environment, proper compliant welfare (an important aspect of HSE) has been a neglected afterthought with time consuming risk increasing vessel transfers often being the only solution.
With vessel transfer, a bag has been the norm to do your business in the turbine, there is a dedicated waste container aboard at the end of your shift. Technicians and industry deserve better.
The First Certified Offshore Welfare Cabin Since 2016 Griffin Special Projects has pioneered the first certified welfare cabins for the offshore wind industry, after 9 years of development research we are proud to have designed an FEA engineered welfare solution designed specifically to withstand the unique challenges of the marine environment.
The Liftaloo isn’t just a toilet — it’s a fully engineered offshore welfare system.

“The LiftaLoo isn’t just a toilet, it’s the fix the offshore industry has needed for years. We’re proud to be the ones finally delivering it.”
“It’s non-spillable. When it is lifted, it is sealed and it stays together.”

“My journey in marine construction predates the offshore wind industry, challenging work like winching off pitching vessels to fixed structures. This experience led to the founding of Pegasus Welfare in 2016, the invention and delivery of the first certified offshore welfare solution on a windfarm and the first internal turbine toilet.
As an experienced industry insider, I engaged with UK HSE to define the non-negotiables for the next generation of offshore welfare. Griffin’s mission is to elevate human dignity and safety for technicians by designing safer, fully compliant solutions that raise welfare standards and simplify logistics.
The LiftaLoo offers a safer, smarter, and more efficient solution for offshore hygiene. It reduces HSE risk, simplifies certification and logistics, built to perform in harsh environments.
For companies focused on safety, compliance, and operational excellence, it’s a no-brainer. The cabin was developed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimise the shape and material choice. Designed for operations in extreme conditions.
Instead of rigid, brittle materials, we use low-density polyethylene for its elasticity – it flexes rather than fractures. The internal aluminium skeleton adds strength where needed, and the single central lifting point simplifies handling. It's a modular, moulded design – robust, compliant with latest HSE expectations. Safe. Full tank drop tests from 5m onto concrete prove its integrity.
Our 9 year journey in offshore wind sanitation has seen multiple awarded patents. Our latest iteration of the in turbine variant and our stand alone onshore vacuum systems has Griffin head and shoulders above the competition.
Griffin is proud to serve under female ownership and direction on both the board and administration levels, making our development work focused on hygiene and human factors.”
